Indian Head Massage concentrates on the areas many people notice first when stress builds: the shoulders, neck, scalp and face. The session can be deeply relaxing without needing a full-body massage.
What I work on
The treatment may include the upper back and shoulders, neck, scalp and gentle facial work. Techniques are adapted to the client and may include kneading, pressure, rhythmic movements and scalp massage.
About the oil
For scalp work I use pure cold-pressed coconut oil when oil is appropriate and the client is comfortable with it. If you prefer to avoid oil, tell me before the session so the treatment can be adjusted.
Who may enjoy this style?
It can suit clients who want a shorter, focused treatment or who carry a lot of everyday tension around the shoulders and scalp. Some clients simply enjoy the calming, quiet nature of head massage.
Practical preparation
- Come with hair free of heavy styling products when possible.
- Tell me if you have scalp sensitivity, recent dental work, neck issues or areas that should be avoided.
- If coconut oil is used, you may want to plan around your hairstyle afterwards.
Not a medical treatment
Indian Head Massage is offered as a wellness and relaxation service. Persistent headaches, dizziness, neurological symptoms or unexplained pain should be assessed appropriately rather than self-diagnosed through massage.
